Doesn’t everyone dream of a job where they can create their own hours and work in their pajamas? If you become an independent agent with Appen, this can become your reality. Appen is a company that works to improve data used for machine learning and artificial intelligence development. As Appen independent agent, you can not only enjoy the flexibility of when they work but how much you work as well. Here are the top 5 facts to know about Appen and how they bring work-from-home jobs right to you!

1. You’ll work with Appen as an independent agent.
When working with Appen, you are an independent contractor which means you are technically managing your own business. Clients contract with Appen to gain access to an agent who will assist them with search engine evaluation. Thus, you’re in control of the hours you work and when because you’re your own manager.
2. It won’t cost you anything to get started.
Ever heard the phrase “you’ve got to spend money to make money”? That’s not the case with Appen. Independent agents pay absolutely no fees to get started which means you have absolutely nothing to lose by registering. That said, Appen does have a few basic equipment requirements (read #3 below for more!) that may cost you some cash if you don’t already have them.

3. There are only a few factors required to get started.
Anyone can become an Appen agent as long as they are at least 18 years old. Equipment wise, Appen requires access to high-speed internet, a personal computer running Google’s free Chrome web browser (version 45), and up to date anti-virus and anti-spyware software. Additionally, the skill requirements for Appen include excellent web research skills and analytical abilities, excellent comprehension and written communication skills, and (perhaps) some assessment tests (check out #4 for more on that!).
4. You may be required to pass assessment exams.
To get started, you will be required to pass a three-part qualification exam that focuses on various aspects of search engine evaluation. Additionally, there are some assignments that require fluency in a language other than English. For these, agents will be required to pass a language assessment test in addition to the qualification exam.

5. You are guaranteed payment at an hourly rate.
A lot of times moving to a more flexible work arrangement can end up costing you money. Can’t imagine taking a pay cut? With Appen, you’re not working on commission. You’ll invoice Appen for each hour of work you complete which means your bank account isn’t at risk with Appen. Within 30 days of the invoice, you’ll receive payment from clients.
Appen’s motto is, “Not set hours or schedules. Exciting Research Work. Competitive Pay.” How can you incorporate a home-based business in your life and how can this benefit your lifestyle? If your happiness or family are suffering due to your current work arrangement, don’t let this continue. Try Appen today—there’s nothing to lose with their fee-free registration!
